Audition

We understand that your parents need to know everything before you commit to an audition.

Click on the envelope to see last season's Membership Agreement for Rules and Guidelines.

Please note that annual fees may increase, but if you are a passionate singer, it's worth it to start planning ahead now .

We've made some exciting changes! Our uniform is available for purchase in the online shop and once you've been offered a place, you'll be able to order your uniform.

If you audition online, you will be able to start contributing to your monthly fees earlier, which makes a difference later.

🎤 Step 1: Choose Your Audition Path

We want to make joining our choir as easy as possible! To accommodate everyone’s schedules, we are offering two ways to audition. Please select the option below that best suits you.

Option A: Assisted Video Audition

Best for: Busy schedules or those who live further away.

Partner with your school music teacher or choir conductor to record your audition in a comfortable, familiar environment. You will record your scales, aural tests, and your 24-bar excerpt of Baba Yethu at school and submit the video online.

  • Deadline: Submissions must be uploaded by 30 August 2026.

  • Perk: Record when you feel ready and avoid travel!

Option B: Live Audition

Best for: Singers who prefer performing in front of a live panel.

Come meet our artistic team in person! You will perform your scales, aural/rhythm tests, and your prepared 24-bar excerpt of [Baba Yethu]  live in front of our friendly audition panel. We will provide a live accompanist.

  • Dates: September - October 2026

  • Location: TBC

  • Perk: Get immediate feedback and experience the acoustics of our rehearsal space.

📝 What Every Singer Needs to Prepare (Both Formats)

No matter which option you choose, all auditionees must prepare:

  1. A Major & Minor Scale (in a comfortable range for your voice).

  2. Aural & Rhythm Readiness (repeating a short melody and clapping back a rhythm).

  3. Baba Yethu (SATB): At least 24 bars of your specific voice part (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, or Bass).
